Everyone is under the assumption that the Browns will take Sam Darnold No. 1 overall. However, the Browns could be viewing this draft differently. They could see Josh Allen as their “Big Ben.” A strong, burly quarterback who can move and has a good arm. So, they will instead take Saquon Barkley No. 1 overall and hope Allen falls to them at No. 4. Meanwhile, the Giants are trying to give Eli one final go at a Lombardi Trophy. So, they will take Bradley Chubb.

This isn’t the first time a California kid will venture to the AFC East. Although, this time the kid from the West Coast won’t be selected 199th overall. He will be selected in a spot with greater expectations than Tom Brady had when the Patriots drafted him.

Darnold has all the tools of an NFL franchise quarterback. He has a good arm, can make all the throws, and throw with anticipation and accuracy not many can coming out of college. He also played from under center in a pro-style offense. It’s everything the Jets could dream of when getting their franchise quarterback.

Frankly the only issue Darnold has is fumbles (nine lost fumbles in 2017). If he can correct that, he will be a shoo-in for All-Pro status and Pro Bowls — and maybe even a bust in Canton someday.
