The Jets had an offer on the table for Ndamaukong Suh to fill the void left after they released Muhammad Wilkerson. However, various outlets are reporting the Jets backed out of that.

So, that means the Jets have to turn to the draft, and that’s where Kentavius Street comes in. He’s a powerful defensive lineman who has limited quickness, but he can use it on occasion. Since he’s 280 pounds, he will have to add weight to play on the interior, which is where the Jets will want him to play.

He’s not a pass rusher, but his power could lead to teams needing to double-team him to keep him out of the backfield. That will lead to quite a few one-on-one opportunities for the pass rushers, and that’s precisely what the Jets need.

The combination of the athleticism of Leonard Williams and the power of Street would give the Jets linebackers the space they need to operate. When they choose not to double-team Street, his power could become a disruptive force in both the running game and the passing game. He can match power with NFL guards, and will be the force to be reckoned with the Jets desire in their defensive ends.
