Chicago Bears: 5 First-round targets in the 2018 NFL Draft
4. Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
After adding impact receivers in free agency, most of the Bears’ most obvious needs are now on the defensive side of the ball. That being said, while they have a few strong offensive line pieces, they still a couple of obvious holes up front. I could certainly see the Chicago Bears using their 2018 first-round selection on a stable offensive lineman.

Mike McGlinchey is a talented prospect who is probably the best offensive tackle in this draft class. If the board does not break well for the Bears before the eighth pick, I could see Pace looking trade back a few spots and targeting McGlinchey in the 11-15 range.
McGlinchey is quick and athletic offensive lineman who moves extremely well up front. He gets into his pass protection sets quickly and shows fantastic technique for an offensive tackle. McGlinchey does not have ideal strength for an offensive lineman and could certainly struggle against power at the next level. However, if he can bulk up a bit and not lose his movement ability, McGlinchey could become an elite offensive tackle.
The Notre Dame product has the ability to be a left tackle at the next level, but seems a bit more comfortable on the right side. If he were to land in Chicago, McGlinchey could immediately replace and be a big upgrade over Bobby Massie at right tackle.
Adding him to the mix would round out the Bears’ offensive line nicely. McGlinchey may be a bit of a reach at eight, but if the Bears can trade back a few spots and snag him, I would call that a major win.
