Oakland Raiders: 7-Round 2018 mock draft after first wave of free agency
In this mock draft, four quarterbacks went in the first five overall picks. This caused some of the more talented players in the class to slip down the board a bit and it worked out extremely well for the Oakland Raiders. In this mock draft, the Raiders were able to sit back and snag Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick is arguably the best secondary prospect in this draft class, showing elite-level ability at both safety and cornerback. In college, Fitzpatrick showcased the ability to dominate in all faucets of the game. He has tremendous range and ball skills as a deep safety, can produce against the run as an in-the-box safety and is a tremendous man-to-man cover corner.
The Alabama product is a fantastic playmaker who specifically comes alive in big moments. He is a turnover creator and big-play machine whose obvious skill-set will translate well to the next level.
The Raiders need to add impact players in the secondary and Fitzpatrick certainly fits the bill. I could see him coming in and immediately starring in a hybrid safety role in Oakland. Fitzpatrick’s ability to excel as a deep zone defender, in-the-box safety and slot cover corner who can also make plays in the blitz game can obviously be an extremely valuable and much-needed addition to their defensive mix.
