I certainly did not go into this mock draft thinking about loading up on Alabama players, but here we are. With the selection of linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton, the Oakland Raiders have now taken three Alabama defensive players with their first four selections of this mock draft.

The addition of free agent Tahir Whitehead will certainly help, but the Raiders still have a need for more playmakers at the linebacker position. Hamilton is an extremely smart and technically sound inside linebacker who shows fantastic skills against the run. Hamilton has fantastic on-field awareness, always finding himself in the right position to make plays.

He is a solid athlete who shows above average coverage skills, but Hamilton is not a speed demon who has ridiculous natural range from the linebacker position. Simply put, Hamilton is a safe linebacker prospect who should be able to make an immediate defensive impact. At worst, he should be a strong special teams contributor from the start.

player. 28. . DB. Jacksonville State. Siran Neal. 5

Siran Neal is an interesting defensive back prospect who has experience playing both safety and cornerback. He shows great skills as an in-the-box safety, but as a big and athletic player, Neal has more natural upside as an outside cornerback.

Neal is raw as a cornerback prospect, as he played much more safety in college. However, he shows fantastic natural coverage ability and impressive press skills on the outside that should translate well. Snagging Neal in the fifth round would be a strong opportunity for the Raiders to develop a talented player at the cornerback position.
