Los Angeles Rams: 7-Round 2018 mock draft for early April
The Los Angeles Rams added impressive talent to an already strong defense this offseason. The addition of Ndamukong Suh to pair with Aaron Donald gives the Rams the scariest defensive front in the entire NFL. They also traded for cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib while re-signing safety Lamarcus Joyner and slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman.

Simply put, the Rams now have an elite defensive line and a top-notch secondary. Those two units will be able to hide a lot of holes if necessary, but the Rams would be wise to attack their needs at linebacker in the 2018 NFL Draft if necessary. They could really use an inside linebacker to pair with Mark Barron and edge rusher is another obvious need.
In the first round of this mock draft, the Rams snag Marcus Davenport, an extremely intriguing edge rusher out of the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Davenport is a long and athletic player who has exciting upside at the next level. He gets an explosive first step off of the snap and converts his speed to power extremely well. He is a crafty rusher who has a knack for setting up the opposing blocker with a wide array of pass rushing moves.
There is a lot to like about Davenport’s game, but he is far from a perfect prospect. His short area quickness is lacking and he does not bend around edge how you would like to see. That being said, his combination of power and athleticism is exciting and Davenport knows how to create pressure. If he is available when the Los Angeles Rams go on the clock in the first round, they would be wise to add Davenport to their mix.
