John Mara told Tom Rock of Newsday that he loved the way the Packers handled the transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers.

"“I always admired the way the Packers handled it with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers,” Giants co-owner John Mara said Sunday."

The Giants are in position to do the same thing with this draft. That said, they don’t have to do it with a first round pick like the Packers did with Rodgers in 2005. Luke Falk is a developmental prospect, and the Giants are in position to let him sit and learn behind Eli Manning.

He is an accurate thrower who can hit his receivers in stride in a pro system. Falk had completed over 60 percent of his passes in all three seasons as Washington State’s starter. That said, he had some issues with the deep and intermediate passes in 2017. However, that could just be a result of a bad offensive line.

He’s a work in progress, but he might be capable of being that guy to replace Manning. If Giants really want to replicate what the Packers did with Rodgers, let him sit for two to three seasons (Rodgers didn’t get his first start till year four). He may be a project, but it’s ok. Time is good for the Giants.
