New England Patriots: 5 Sleepers to target in 2018 NFL Draft
Targeting specific sleeper prospects for the New England Patriots in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft.
The New England Patriots are obvious Super Bowl contenders next season, and as long as Tom Brady continues to play at an MVP-caliber level, they will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. That being said, there are still holes on their roster that need addressed.
After losing Nate Solder in free agency, left tackle stands out as a massive hole. On top of that, the Patriots have issues in the defensive front seven, in the secondary and with running back depth. They have some serious work to do in the 2018 NFL Draft in order to put their best team forward during Brady’s final years.
Holding two first-round and two-second round selections, the Pats will be able to address some of their needs in the early rounds of the draft with legitimate impact talent. However, there are also specific late-round sleeper prospects who I would like to see them target. In this post, we are going to take a look at those players.
The Patriots have had a lot of success with late-round selections over the years. Brady obviously stands out, but guys like Julian Edelman, Marcus Cannon and Trey Flowers are also big-time current contributors who were found by the Pats late in the draft.
Simply put, Bill Belichick seems to have a knack for finding these late-round sleepers, and there is certainly enough talent in this draft class for him to work his magic. Without further ado, here are five sleeper prospects who the New England Patriots should target in the 2018 NFL Draft.
