Speaking of Chubb, many believe the Colts will strongly consider the defensive end if he’s available at No. 6 when looking at how horrendous their defense looked for the most part during the 2017 season. But if Indianapolis decides to go in a different direction by trading down for the second time in the first round after completing a deal with New York back in March, selecting a linebacker could help fill a need at No. 10.

As soon as he declared for this year’s draft, Georgia’s Roquan Smith watched his stock skyrocket since many believe he could end up being the most talented linebacker from this year’s class, although he still has a long way to go when it comes to proving himself. Smith possesses the kind of leadership skills any coach would love to have on their roster, and it’s no secret just how desperate a team like the Colts is to have a player like that on the defensive side of the football.

Plus, when looking at how the three other teams in the division are shaping out to be, Indianapolis is going to need all of the help they can get heading into 2018 just to have a shot. So if the Colts can get away with gaining additional draft picks again by trading down while still getting a talented prospect like Smith, it would be a huge win.
