What an offseason it’s been for the Miami Dolphins when looking at the key players they decided to part ways with ranging from Ndamukong Suh to Jarvis Landry, as this team now faces even more pressure to get back on the winning track during the 2018 season. One year after earning a Wild Card spot in the AFC, the Dolphins were hoping Jay Cutler would be able to fill in as the short-term answer at quarterback after Ryan Tannehill was lost for the year, but that was far from the case, as the team would go on to win just six games.

Losing guys like Suh and Landry may seem difficult to replace when looking at the impact each of these players made on their respected sides of the football, although Miami has been keeping themselves busy in free agency. However, despite all of the chatter surrounding the possibility of the Dolphins using the draft to find a new potential franchise quarterback, the best option for the first round may be focusing on the defensive side of the football with a dominant force like Vita Vea.

The size and strength Vea possesses makes it seem like he’s ready to make a splash at the NFL level, whether it ends up being in Miami or with another team. Sadly, defense is going to be the only chance any team in the AFC East is going to have at overtaking the Patriots, so someone like Vea could give the Dolphins a much better chance of making that happen.
