2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
Against high odds, the Buffalo Bills pulled the unthinkable last season by becoming playoff contenders in the AFC while earning one of the Wild Card spots, mainly due to having an elite defense. After making numerous moves leading up to September, the Bills seemed like they were going to be a team that went through at least a year or two of rebuilding, which just made this story even better to see unfold.
However, now the question becomes whether Buffalo has what it takes to prove what took place last year wasn’t just a one-time thing, and they do in fact have what it takes to continue being contenders in the AFC. Luckily, the defense should be in great shape once again, but that doesn’t mean the Bills still won’t look to the draft to bring on additional weapons.
Da’Ron Payne’s enormous size and strength makes it seem like he’s going to be an absolute freak at the NFL level, meaning Buffalo would certainly love to bring him on board to make the defensive line even more dangerous. Plus, the time Payne spent at Alabama means he learned from one of the best in Saban, and as mentioned earlier on this list, the Bills have to love the idea of how many former Crimson Tide defensive members have gone on to succeed at the NFL level.
