player. 31. (Trade with Cleveland Browns). Quarterback. USC. Sam Darnold. 1

As mentioned before, there’s going to be a time sooner rather than later in which the Giants will need to come up with some sort of game plan for life without Manning since the veteran quarterback isn’t getting any younger entering his 15th NFL season in 2018. Last season, New York ended up being one of the biggest disappointments after going from Super Bowl contenders at the start of the season to winning just three games to line them up with the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft.

What took place last season was obviously beyond frustrating to see, but if the Giants are looking for a positive factor, at least they are in great position to take advantage of this year’s draft class loaded with talent at the quarterback position. However, if New York has any interest in landing USC’s Darnold, they may have to trade up to the top spot since the Cleveland Browns have been expressing interest in the quarterback as well, and rightfully so when looking at the potential he brings to the table.

If this were to happen, Darnold would obviously spend some time playing behind Manning since the team already seems committed to the veteran for at least the 2018 season. Similar to Manning, Darnold’s turnovers are one of a few areas of concern heading into the NFL, but maybe the two can figure out a way to work on that together if they were to become teammates.
