2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
Give the Carolina Panthers credit for bouncing back as serious contenders in the NFC during the 2017 season when looking at all of the frustrations Ron Rivera’s team was dealing with the year before. Even if their dreams of earning a trip to the Super Bowl came up short early on in the playoffs, there’s every reason to believe the Panthers will be one of the top teams to beat once again next year.
One of the reasons why Carolina is such a special team is due to all of the talent they have to work with on both sides of the football, especially on offense. Seeing Cam Newton return to his MVP ways last year was a huge sign of relief for the Panthers, and with Torrey Smith coming on board to help mentor some of the younger receivers, the quarterback should be in for another strong season.
Of course, the best way to help Newton reach his potential is to make sure he’s well protected on the offensive line. At the moment, Mike McGlinchey seems to be one of those lineman that nobody seems to know where he could end up in the first round, but Carolina would need to strongly consider this possibility at No. 24 if available.
