2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
After being on the wrong end of the wort collapse in Super Bowl history, all the Atlanta Falcons was another shot at redemption by earning a trip to Minnesota this past season after blowing a 28-3 lead against the Patriots the year before. Unfortunately, the Falcons came up short of their goal after falling to the Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, but on a positive note, at least this team is showing signs of continuing to be a legitimate contender in the NFC for years to come.
Normally, Atlanta’s offense is the unit that receives the most praise thanks to Matt Ryan having some of the league’s most talented players to work with in Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman, but the defense has actually shown a ton of potential over the last two seasons. Think about how the Falcons were able to hold a high-powered offense like the Eagles to scoring just 15 points in that playoff game, and it shows there’s plenty to build from this past season.
With the 26th pick in the draft, defense could come into play for Atlanta, and it will be interesting to see if the team expresses interest in Florida’s Taven Bryan. The defensive tackle has seen his stock on the rise over the last couple of weeks, and Bryan’s explosiveness shows all sorts of potential at the NFL level.
