2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
Expectations were high for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading into last season after falling just shy of earning a trip to the playoffs the year before, but unfortunately the pressure seemed like too much to handle. On paper, the Buccaneers appeared to have a stacked offense for Jameis Winston to work with thanks to a dynamic duo in Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson, but clearly this team is still a work in progress.
Most importantly, the defense looked horrendous for the most part, although the unit will look completely different in 2018 thanks to bringing key players like Jason Pierre-Paul and Beau Allen onboard. But as great of a job as Tampa Bay has done through trades and free agency, cornerback is still an area that could be addressed in the draft to help the defense even more.
Central Florida’s Mike Hughes has started to catch the eyes of numerous teams looking to add a cornerback in the first round when looking at his physical style of play in college. He may need some time to adjust to playing at the NFL level, but at least Hughes seems to have enough potential in which taking the necessary steps to work with him would payoff in the long run.
