2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
Unfortunately for the Browns, the team is coming off a season in which they ended up on the wrong side of history after going the entire year without winning a single game, giving Hue Jackson just one win over the previous two seasons. Luckily, Cleveland needs just one win to already show improvement from the 2017 season, and to top it off, the team is fortunate enough to have two of the top four picks in the first round thanks to last year’s trade with the Houston Texans.
Many believe this will finally be the year in which the Browns select a quarterback since a top prospect will be available for one of their two first picks, and if a team like the Giants were to trade up to the top spot, holding off until No. 4 wouldn’t be a terrible idea. In fact, if New York did in fact move up, Cleveland could still be in a great position to land the most skilled running back this draft has to offer in Saquon Barkley at No. 2.
The fact that Barkley can be used in multiple ways on offense along with special teams means the Penn State star would be able to make an immediate impact for a team like the Browns that has been quite busy this offseason. Even if Cleveland used free agency to sign Carlos Hyde, Barkley is simply too talented of a running back to turn down, and would provide the team with an effective duo in the backfield.
