55. (Trade with Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Defensive Back. Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 7. player

Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh Steelers learned the hard way in the Divisional Round against the Jacksonville Jaguars how ugly a game can quickly get when the defense fails to come through on their end, although hopefully this offseason will help fix some of those areas in need of improvement. Without question, safety was one of the top areas the Steelers were expected to focus on once last season came to an end, and since it seems highly unlikely he’ll be available towards the end of the first round, trading up for Minkah Fitzpatrick is a move to consider for the AFC North champions.

There’s a reason why the Alabama defensive back is considered one of the top prospects from this year’s class when looking at the impact he’s made over the years with the Crimson Tide. Not to mention, Nick Saban has a strong history of producing some of the NFL’s top defensive players, meaning Fitzpatrick has the opportunity to follow those same steps.

Fitzpatrick has received heavy praise throughout his career over his ability to make the necessary adjustments on defense to keep the football out of the hands of his opponents. If Fitzpatrick loved the culture at Alabama, chances are he’ll feel the same towards a city like Pittsburgh.
