2018 NFL Mock Draft: 10 Big trades create mass chaos
By Dan Parzych
After years of seeming like a lock to make a run at the Super Bowl in the NFC, early signs point to the Seattle Seahawks being in for an interesting 2018 season when looking at all of the changes on both sides of the football. From losing Jimmy Graham in free agency to parting ways with Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett on defense, the Seahawks are all of a sudden far from the dangerous threat they usually tend to be.
Obviously, Seattle could still end up emerging as a threat in the NFC since Russell Wilson has a history of carrying this team on his shoulders when needed, although the quarterback learned the hard last year how difficult it can be without the necessary support from the offensive line. Still, when looking at how the NFC West is shaping up to be with the Los Angeles Rams and their high-powered offense, the Seahawks will need to improve on the defensive side of the football just to have a fighting chance.
Chances are a few good cornerbacks will be worth consideration at No. 18, but trading up for Ohio State’s Denzel Ward could be a move that pays off in a big way for Seattle with his athleticism. Replacing an effective leader like Sherman won’t be easy, but the Seahawks have to start somewhere.
