Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 Potential breakout players for 2018
3. Dede Westbrook, WR
For a Biletnikoff Award winner, All-American and Heisman Trophy finalist, Dede Westbrook was an absolute steal for the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. At the time, the selection of Westbrook gave the Jaguars a deep group of receivers with Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee. However, a core injury at the start of the 2017 season sidelined Westbrook until Nov. 18. He made an instant impact upon his return though.
He finished his rookie campaign with 27 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown. He also led the Jaguars in receiving yards in the Wild Card Round win against the Buffalo Bills. Now, going into 2018, both Robinson and Hurns are now gone and the Jaguars are expecting the second-year receiver to make a giant leap in 2018.
Provided he stays healthy, the former Sooner will be a key target for Blake Bortles in the passing game. And, given his stats in seven games last season as a rookie, he could total1,000 yards this year. Without question, though, Westbrook will be afforded plenty of opportunity to make an impact on the offense with the departures of Robinson and Hurns in free agency.
