2018 NFL Mock Draft: 6 Surprise quarterback trades cause madness
By Dan Parzych
Sooner or later, the Baltimore Ravens will need to come up with some sort of plan for what happens when Joe Flacco decides to call it a career since the veteran quarterback isn’t getting any younger. Not to mention, Flacco has been dealing with some frustration over the last few seasons when looking at the lack of weapons the Ravens provided him on offense, but at least the team deserves credit for some of the work they’ve done before the draft.
Between receiving an unexpected surprise after Michael Crabtree became available to hoping speedster John Brown turns out to be an underrated signing, Flacco should have a much easier time running the offense in 2018 while hopefully helping this team return to the playoffs instead of missing out for a fourth year in a row. As for the approach the Ravens should take heading into the draft, the team could focus on numerous areas in the first round, but imagine if the team decided to trade up to land Oklahoma star Baker Mayfield.
Football fans can say what they want about Mayfield’s maturity now that he’s going to be in the NFL, but the talent is undeniable. At the end of the day, Baltimore, along with numerous other teams, would love to bring on a quarterback like Mayfield after seeing him toss 119 touchdown passes compared to just 21 interceptions during his final three seasons with the Sooners.
