Roquan Smith. 11. player. 59. . Linebacker. Georgia

After emerging as a surprise contender in the AFC during the 2016 season, the Miami Dolphins were hoping to see similar success this past season, even after losing Ryan Tannehill for the year early on. To fill in for Tannehill, the Dolphins convinced Jay Cutler to come out of retirement on a hefty one-year deal, and unfortunately for Adam Gase’s squad, this would end up being one of the worst decisions the team could have made.

Take all of this into consideration along with a crazy offseason consisting of moving on from previous key players in Jarvis Landry and Ndamukong Suh, it’s safe to say that nobody truly knows what to expect from Miami in 2018. But on a positive note, at least with the No. 11 pick, the Dolphins will have plenty of solid options to choose from, especially if they’re looking to strike gold right away on the defensive side of the football.

As soon as Roquan Smith declared for the NFL Draft a few months, just about every team in need of help at linebacker added the Georgia standout to their list of potential prospects. Smith’s numbers alone show he’s the type of receiver that gets better with experience, and joining a team in need of help at linebacker like the Dolphins could turn out well for both parties.
