2018 NFL Mock Draft: 6 Surprise quarterback trades cause madness
By Dan Parzych
Similar to the Jets, the Buffalo Bills were another team that completed a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals in the offseason to move up in the first round of the NFL Draft, with many speculating due to their desire to land a quarterback. However, when looking at how many quarterbacks could already be off the board by the time the Bills are on the clock at No. 12, they may end up missing out on a prospect of interest if they don’t move up again.
The chances of another team in need of help at quarterback like Cleveland giving up their No. 4 pick to Buffalo may seem like a long shot, but with the right offer, anything is possible when it comes to the draft. Not to mention, when looking at all of the previous years in which they decided to pass on selecting a quarterback along with Jackson’s determination to give Tyrod Taylor a chance in 2018, maybe the Browns won’t go quarterback after all.
If this does in fact happen to be the case, the Bills could benefit from trading up to No. 4, and land another top prospect at quarterback in UCLA’s Josh Rosen. AJ McCarron may be the short-term answer in Buffalo, but if the team is looking for a quarterback of the future, Rosen could be that guy, and passing on him if given the opportunity would be foolish.
