2018 NFL Mock Draft: 6 Surprise quarterback trades cause madness
By Dan Parzych
Disaster doesn’t even begin to describe what last season was like for the Indianapolis Colts, as the team was expected to get back on the winning track, only to end up finishing with a 4-12 record. Without question, the mystery surrounding Andrew Luck’s shoulder injury was a main reason why the Colts struggled the way they did, and if this wasn’t already frustrating enough to deal with, there’s no guarantee the former No. 1 pick will even return to his old ways.
As bad as it sounds, all Indianapolis can do about this situation is continue to be patient over the next couple of months, and hope Luck doesn’t experience anymore setbacks with his shoulders. As for what the Colts should do about their first-round pick, well let’s just say focusing on the defensive side of the football seems like the correct approach.
Even with a healthy Luck last year, the argument can be made that Indianapolis most likely still would have finished below .500 since the defense was that horrendous. Linebacker was one of the main areas the Colts were looking to improve on this offseason, and Virginia Tech’s Tremaine Edmunds appears to be the kind of defender that could quickly work his way into being a valuable leader at the NFL level.
