48. . Defensive Back. Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 7. player

Expectations were high for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading into last season after falling just shy of earning a trip to the playoffs the year before, but unfortunately it looks like the pressure caught up to Dirk Koetter’s team after winning just five games. On paper, the Buccaneers seemed to be in amazing shape on offense thanks to a duo for Jameis Winston to work with in Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson, but an offensive unit can only do so much without the proper support from the defense.

Out of nowhere, the NFC North arguably became the most competitive division in the NFL last season, as Tampa Bay was the only team that failed to earn a trip to the postseason. With all of the talented offenses, the only chance of the Buccaneers having what it takes to compete with their rivals is if the defense improves in numerous areas, similar to what the Giants have to deal with in the NFC East.

Adding a defensive back with a competitive nature like Minkah Fitzpatrick could certainly work wonders for a defense like Tampa Bay. Fitzpatrick has the awareness that football coaches love to work with, and there’s a good chance the former Alabama star will be selected in the top 10.
