Dez Bryant was cut by the Dallas Cowboys on Friday and is now an unrestricted free agent, but where could the wide receiver ultimately end up?

Since being selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 24th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Dez Bryant had the No. 1 receiver spot locked down on the depth chart. Throughout 113 games played over eight years, he amassed 531 receptions for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns. That includes three-straight seasons of 1,200 or more yards and double-digit touchdowns from 2012-14. Things are changing for Bryant and the Boys.

On Friday, Dallas released the 29-year old wide receiver after three-straight seasons of failing to live up to the standard he set from 2012-14. The team deemed he wasn’t worth the $16 million owed to him in the 2018 season, and decided to just cut ties as opposed to just asking him to take a pay-cut.

Now Bryant will hit the open market and — in addition to no doubt being set on making the Cowboys pay for releasing him — teams will surely be looking to add a player of his caliber to the roster. The wide receiver market in 2018 free agency was quite top heavy, and also one area that dried up quite quickly. Adding a player with at least the potential of Bryant at this point in the offseason certainly makes things interesting.

A big reason for that, of course, is the simple fact that many teams are still left looking for help at the position. And though the draft will provide options, teams have other needs and no draft pick has the proven success in the NFL that Bryant does working in their favor. With that in mind, these are five places that would make sense for Dez Bryant to land in free agency.
