We know the games for the preseason, but every fan wants to know what the regular season holds and when the 2018 NFL schedule will be released.
It’s a long way to go until the 2018 NFL schedule actually kicks off. We’re still some 3.5 months away from even the preseason begins. Yes, the draft will help curb fans for some time, but that will only increase the anticipation for the regular season as fans want to see these rookies on the field.
But alas, the regular season doesn’t start until September, and that’s some 4.5 months off in the future. Such is the hopeless offseason plight for NFL fans in the offseason. That’s why we all cling to whatever we can in terms of things the prognosticate about, make predictions for and so on. One such thing is certainly the NFL schedule.
However, the league always waits until right before the actual schedule is released before they let us know when it will happen. Yes, we know it’s often around the time of the draft, but that’s about it. Lucky for us, we finally have some information that’s solid and that can be relied upon.
The 2018 NFL schedule will be released on Thursday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET on an NFL Network special:

At this point, we know which teams will be on the schedule for all 32 teams. However, we don’t know how those games will shake out on the schedule — meaning when they will be played and what that could potentially mean.

We’ve seen in years past how a schedule can affect teams. An early slate that’s loaded with cupcakes can precipitate a fall from grace and/or false hope. Contrarily, a tough early slate could have a team prepared to make a run late in the season. It’s all in how the cards fall, and we’ll see on Thursday night how they fell for the 2018 NFL schedule.
