Round 2: Billy Price, C, Ohio State

Billy Price is picked in the second round. Price gives Jacksonville another option on the offensive line. The emergence of Price would allow Brandon Linder to be able to play right guard.

Price stands 6-4, weighing 312 pounds. At Ohio State, Price started 55 straight games. For three seasons, he played guard and moved to center in his senior season. His versatility adds to the overall depth. Price would give the Jaguars three potential right guards and two centers. Price, Linder and A.J. Cann are three right guards. Linder and Price would be the centers.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com gives an overview of Price:

"Plays like a Wildling at times with tremendous explosiveness, strength and, almost excessive initial charge. Price’s power and leverage give him a huge advantage over most centers in this draft. He should be able to come into the league and deal with NFL power right away. …Price should be a good, early starter."

The selection of Price is an investment in building the power rushing attack. Expect offensive linemen to be a priority since Doug Marrone is a former lineman. Joe Gibbs had success in Washington because of the “Hogs“. Seems like Marrone is following that blueprint for success.
