Round 4: Kameron Kelly, CB/S, San Diego State

Having a fourth-round grade, Kameron Kelly would be a nice selection at 137th overall for the fact there is versatility with a player in Kelly who is known for being a safety, but played cornerback as well during his collegiate career at San Diego State.

Kelly is a Texas native and being 6-2, 204 pounds could fit in nicely with a defensive backfield that is already young and possibly building into something special with the likes of Jourdan Lewis (CB), Chidobe Awuzie (CB), Byron Jones (FS), Xavier Woods (SS) and Anthony Brown (Nickel).

At SDSU his senior year in 13 games, Kelly totaled 67 tackles with five for a loss, plus he totaled two sacks and had three interceptions. Kelly even forced two fumbles. His career totals for 45 games included eight tackles for a loss and nine interceptions.

The defensive back Kelly might not be a starter, but this selection would be great for a role player within the defense, and for the Cowboys, the more pieces on the defense, the better the improvement can be. Kelly doesn’t need to be a superstar for the Cowboys, but just be a player who can produce in zone schemes and bring the Cowboys versatility as both a cornerback and a safety.
