New York Jets: 7-Round 2018 mock draft one week away
Byron Pringle is a 24-year-old rookie due to a dusty path to the NFL. the reason he’s 24 years old is due to a late start to football because of trouble with the law as a teenager, but by all accounts, that’s in the past.
His trouble with the law kept him out of major college football for one season, and he ended up at Butler Community College in Kansas. There he averaged 15.4 yards per catch and scored nine touchdowns.
He’s a physical receiver with downfield speed and the ability to separate. According to Pro Football Focus Elite, he had 2.94 yards per route run which was 17th in the nations. He’s going to have to show he won’t drop passes at the same rate he did at Kansas State, though. His drop rate of 16.7 percent was just too high. He did average 19.6 yards per reception, 27.6 yards per kickoff return and scored 11 touchdowns in two years at Kansas State.

His deep threat ability would add depth to the wide receiver room, and his speed would give them a much-needed kickoff return threat. Pringle has a lot to prove, but if he can bring something to the table the Jets need, he would be a great addition to the roster in 2018.
