The San Francisco 49ers look like a powder-keg ready to explode on the NFL, and here’s the road they’ll have to take with their 2018 schedule.

It looked like the San Francisco 49ers were going to be in the mix for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft early on with their play in the 2017 regular season. Then their fortunes changed. General manager John Lynch pulled off a trade with the New England Patriots to land quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. From there, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan handled the rest and the turnaround was in motion.

Garoppolo didn’t lose a single game as a starter for San Francisco and led the team to ultimately finishing with a record of 6-10. It’s putting it lightly to say that expectations are now sky-high for both the quarterback and the 49ers as a whole now. But those expectations are warranted. Jimmy G looked tailor-made for Shanahan’s offense, which has been touted time and again for its effectiveness.

With that and the rest of the 49ers moves that they’ve made to this point, they are looking fearsome. They have intriguing weapons on offense, some nice pieces like DeForest Buckner and Solomon Thomas on defense, and the coaching staff that seems ready to take over the league. It’s a great mix.

So now it’s all about making the wins come to the Bay Area, and that means taking care of business. Here’s who they’ll face in trying to do so with the release of the San Francisco 49ers 2018 schedule:

The NFC West is the new hotness right now with the 49ers and teams like the Los Angeles Rams in addition to staples like the Seattle Seahawks. It’ll be fascinating to see if Garoppolo and San Francisco is ready to take the league by storm, or if there will be growing pains.
