Frank Ragnow – Arkansas

Capable at both center and guard, Ragnow would offer some much valued versatility on the interior of the line and ticks all the athletic boxes for a zone-blocking scheme. Ragnow lit up his pro day, posting a 10-yard split (1.74 seconds) in the 80th percentile for offensive linemen and a 20-yard split (2.91 secs) in the 99th percentile, per Mock Draftable.

That kind of athleticism is reflected in Ragnow’s tape, which showed a player consistently able to pull and get to the second level with ease.

Able to execute the reach block and seal defenders off, Ragnow exhibits leg drive and power as a run-blocker, displaying a mean streak to finish blocks in a punishing manner.

It is in pass protection where he is most impressive, however. Ragnow did not allow a sack in a four-year college career in the SEC, per Pro Football Focus, a remarkable statistic owing to his ability to control the leverage battle with low pad level and a wide base while also being able to fend off counters and reset.

There is increasing buzz Ragnow could sneak into the first round. The 49ers would be well served by working the phones on day two should that scenario not come to pass.
