2018 NFL Mock Draft: Two complete rounds including massive trades
A complete two-round 2018 NFL mock draft filled with many logical trade scenarios.
The 2018 NFL Draft is right around the corner. After months and months of speculating, we will finally know where these prospects will end up. Before we hit the actual draft, let’s speculate one last time with a complete two-round 2018 NFL mock draft.
This time, we are including logical trade ideas throughout both rounds.
Let’s start at No. 1 with the Cleveland Browns.
It is fairly obvious that the Cleveland Browns are going to take a quarterback with the first overall pick. It is possible that they get a godfather trade offer they simply cannot refuse, but it is far more likely that the Browns take their franchise quarterback at number one.
With the first pick in this 2018 NFL mock draft, the Browns select USC quarterback Sam Darnold. Fellow quarterback prospect Josh Allen has also been rumored as an option here, but I’m not buying it. Darnold is the guy and I would be legitimately shocked to see any other player taken with the first overall pick.
Darnold is an incredibly exciting quarterback prospect who has a ton of natural upside at the next level. He showcases a strong arm, pinpoint accuracy and fantastic touch on his passes. He reads defenses well, showing the ability to look off safeties and fire the ball in short spaces when necessary.
Darnold did turn the ball over far too much in college, but that should improve with natural progression at the next level. He is too aggressive at times, but learned from his mistakes over the course of his college career.
Simply put, Sam Darnold is an elite quarterback prospect who could be the missing link for the Cleveland Browns. Taking him with the first overall pick is an absolute no-brainer.
