2018 NFL Mock Draft: Two complete rounds including massive trades
After cutting ties with Dez Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys may look at wide receiver as an option in the first round. However, instead of reaching for the need in this 2018 NFL mock draft, the Cowboys fill another need with a more valuable selection.
The Cowboys need to find a player who can rush the passer from the interior, and Maurice Hurst certainly fits the bill. Hurst is an extremely quick and athletic defensive tackle who can shoot the gap and rush the passer. He is arguably the best interior rusher in this class and can make an impact against the run as well. Snagging him at number 19 would be an ideal situation for Dallas.
The Detroit Lions have lacked an impact player at the running back position for many years. Matthew Stafford and the passing game have done it on their own in recent years and could really use a back who can come in and make an impact. With the 20th pick of this 2018 NFL mock draft, the Lions fill that running back need by taking Derrius Guice of LSU.
Guice is a big-time running back prospect who has massive upside a the next level. He shows an incredible combination of speed, power and quickness that will undoubtedly translate to the next level. He is a true weapon with the ball in his hands who would come in and make an immediate impact.
Guice has underrated ability as a receiver out of the backfield. He is a true three-down back who could quickly take the Lions offense to the next level by taking so much pressure off of Stafford and the passing attack.
