2018 NFL Mock Draft: Two complete rounds including massive trades
The Cincinnati Bengals desperately lack speed at the linebacker position. In today’s NFL, you need linebackers who can defend from sideline-to-sideline both against the run and in coverage. The Bengals simply do not have that player on their roster.
With the 21st overall pick in this 2018 NFL mock draft, Cincinnati finds that guy in Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans. Evans is an extremely quick and athletic linebacker who shows fantastic natural playmaking ability. He is also a tough and instinctive player who always puts himself in the best possible situation to succeed. The Bengals need a player like Evans and love to take Alabama players. This just feels like a strong fit.
The ideal 2018 NFL mock draft for the New York Giants continues with the 22nd overall pick. After nabbing their franchise quarterback while also picking up extra draft capital earlier, the Giants continue to dominate this draft by taking Texas offensive tackle Connor Williams.
Williams is an extremely tough and physical offensive lineman who also shows quick feet for the position. He is a great run blocker who can undoubtedly hold his own in pass protection as well. The Giants have obvious needs across their offensive line and Williams would be a fantastic addition for both the short and long-term.
If Ereck Flowers cannot hold his own at right tackle next season, Williams could step in and take his place. If Flowers appears to improve, then Williams could kick inside and play guard. Either way, he would be a welcomed addition up front for the Giants.
