The 2018 NFL Draft has finally arrived, so it’s time to reveal who the Cleveland Browns should target in the draft this ear as well as undrafted free agents.
It remains to be seen what a Cleveland Browns draft will look like led by general Manager John Dorsey and his brigade of lieutenants, but based on data analysis and game tape, I’ve come up with my list of who they should be trying to acquire.
Only three quarterbacks are included. There are more than three quarterbacks that are worthwhile in the 2018 draft class, but the Browns have the top pick and their choice of three extremely talented, qualified candidates. The team should take one of them and be done with the position, short of adding an undrafted free agent camp arm.
Thee are also only three tight ends included. That’s a combination of a really down year at the position and the Browns having a good group of them. So beyond those three, it’s not really worth a discussion.
The rest of the positions combine for a total of 129 prospect targets, so there’s no shortage of talent to be found in this class at positions that can make a substantial impact. Every player has as much pertinent data as could be found. Players that specifically skipped a particular drills were listed as DNP. Anything that couldn’t found or confirmed not done was simply not included.
This is NOT a projection of where prospects will go, but based on my analysis, where they are ranked with respect to their positions. NFL teams and the Cleveland Browns in particular have their own view and this is about being accurate for the long term rather than how they are drafted. So with all of that in mind, let’s do it.
