The New York Giants still have quite a few needs, and they must address them in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The New York Giants can control their own destiny. They have the No. 2 overall pick and have options. They can stay at No. 2 and address a pressing need like offensive line, running back, or edge rusher. However, there’s another option. They can still trade the No. 2 overall pick.
If they are in the process of working on a deal, and somehow it’s remaining hush-hush, they can wait until draft night and draft the guy the team they’re working with wants. Then, trade him on draft night.
Their No. 2 pick will be very expensive, though. The Colts got three second round picks and a top-ten pick for their No. 6 overall pick. So, teams that want to move up will likely have to have multiple first round picks, be willing to part ways with a second round pick, and possible another pick in the 2019 draft. Very few teams have that capital.
So, what will the Giants do with their No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft? Let’s see who they will build their future around in 2018.
