D.J. Moore is the best receiver in the draft class and in order for him to make it to this pick, teams targeting receivers will have to go with stereotypical size and length or the familiar name. However, the Browns may opt to target Moore if they want to trade up and get a third first-round pick like they did last year.

Moore can line up anywhere in the formation and be a dynamic threat. Get the ball in his hands and let him cause problems. The fact that the Browns have players like Josh Gordon, David Njoku, Duke Johnson and Corey Coleman would allow Moore to develop at his own pace and just add a player that gets in favorable matchups and makes the occasional splash play.

The player that stands out if Moore is off the board is Courtland Sutton, the wide receiver from Southern Methodist. He’s the prototypical X receiver with size, strength and speed. He’s terrific after the catch and using his body to box opponents out for the ball, but he doesn’t have the most natural hands.

In a lot of ways, he’s reminiscent of Alshon Jeffery. Yes, he can make some big plays, be a jump ball type of guy and be a big-time playmaker, but he also can be just a reliable chain moving target. Sutton is also a glider in how he runs, so he look slower than he is, which is not unlike Terrelle Pryor. Sutton is not a finished product but could be a great player to grow up with alongside Darnold.
