The Washington Redskins have eight picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. What direction will they go in? Here’s a final 7-round mock draft for the Redskins.

The Washington Redskins have eight picks in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft. After losing so many players from last year’s roster, specifically on defense, the Redskins have numerous holes to fill on both sides of the ball. Fortunately for Washington, the acquisition of quarterback Alex Smith solved one issue.

Free agency has been a mixed bag for the Redskins. The addition of Paul Richardson was nice; however, the team’s most glaring needs still remain an issue. The team chose to remain on the sidelines during free agency rather than spend big money on the defensive line. Team president Bruce Allen chose to offer incentive-laden one-year deals rather than offer lucrative long-term contracts to veteran defensive linemen.

The trade of cornerback Kendall Fuller, arguably the team’s top cornerback one year ago, still stings. The team did not want to give him up in the trade for Smith, but it was necessary to get the deal done. Fuller’s exit, compounded with the departure of Bashaud Breeland, weakened the secondary. Josh Norman is back, but the team is counting on younger players like Quinton Dunbar and Fabian Moreau to step up. Orlando Scandrick was signed as insurance.

The Redskins had a solid draft class one year ago. However, injuries impacted numerous players such as first-round pick Jonathan Allen, Ryan Anderson and Montae Nicholson. Washington is counting on big things from last year’s class in 2018.

Who will the Redskins pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft? Here’s a final seven-round mock draft for Washington with the draft just days away.
