Day 2 Overall Review

The Dallas Cowboys did a nice job overall on the second day of the 2018 NFL Draft on Friday, but there is still a lot of work to be done by the franchise if they want to catch the likes of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Looking back at how the Cowboys attacked the second day of the draft, they did an excellent job of drafting players who might need some work but are able to play right now and contribute in some way for the offense in 2018. Focusing on the offense was a big statement from the Cowboys as well because the offense and team is built around the duo of quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, and any time you can add players who will make both Prescott and Elliott better each and every week, well, it is tough to complain about.

However all of this turns out, the Cowboys still did an excellent job of working to add the right players to the mix on day two of the draft, and if both Connor Willams and Michael Gallup can become solid contributors to the offense, the Cowboys should look back on these two rounds and give themselves a pat on the back. As of the conclusion of the second day, these two selections look like they’ll be quite helpful for the 2018 season and beyond, and that is what the draft is all about.

Overall, it was a good day for the Cowboys and they became a better football team, but there is still a lot of work ahead for the franchise if they want to be the champions of the NFC East once again.
