Grade: C

Another small-school prospect, but I like this pick more than the addition of Hall. Brandon Parker has the look of a third- or fourth-round pick with more upside and polish than most coming from non-FBS schools. Still, it’s no home run.

Sorry Raiders fans, but I have my concerns about this one too. Oakland already went out and grabbed Miller in the first round, a player who hopefully fixes the issues at right tackle. Even if the UCLA product ends up on the left side after Penn’s retirement, the Raiders have other intriguing tackle prospects in David Sharpe, Vadal Alexander and Jylan Ware.

So where does Parker fit into the equation? Well, I’m not entirely sure. He’s a project who the Raiders traded up to get. I’m not worried about the picks they parted with, because they had plenty. I just don’t see where this selection fits into their long-term plans.

Parker impressed during the Senior Bowl, proving he could hang with top competition. He’s got terrific size and length as well as plus athleticism, but is extremely raw and will need serious work on his technique at the next level. Some will say that Tom Cable can mold him into a playmaker, but look how his coaching worked out recently with the Seattle Seahawks.

The potential is there, but the Raiders already got a tackle in the first round. Double dipping with so many other needs seems ill-advised.
