Cleveland Browns: 2019 4-Round mock draft, projecting needs
By Peter Smith
Summary
10. Rashan Gary, DL Michigan
42. Lukas Denis, Boston College
74. Anthony Johnson, WR Buffalo
94. Terry Beckner Jr., DT Missouri
113. Carl Granderson, EDGE Wyoming
It’s great that the Browns don’t need to be targeting a quarterback in the 2019 draft and hopefully it stays that way, but this draft class boasts a lot of talent on the defensive line and while the Browns have a few players that look to be the real deal there, they need more of them to truly make it something opponents fear.
Whether it’s a player like Rashan Gary or someone else, the Browns need to continue looking for an impact player at the 3-technique. That interior pressure is just so valuable and it would free up Myles Garrett to attack from the edge or move around as the Browns see fit. And it wouldn’t be a bad idea whatsoever to grab more than one.
The Browns also need more help on the edge. Garrett and Ogbah cannot be the only guys who can generate pressure or win a one on one matchup from the outside. Maybe Granderson helps there, but they have to add depth in case of injury and just keeping guys fresh, so they don’t get killed when their studs are out of the game.
The 2018 free safety class was pretty underwhelming and the Browns look smart by adding Damarious Randall, but he now has to prove it. It may prove to be a great move, but it’s at least a stop gap before allowing them to find a better, longterm option. Lukas Denis has a ton of ability and production there and could be a perfect answer to that issue.

2018 will be big for Corey Coleman among others at wide receiver. 2019 could be a year where the Browns look to make a bigger splash or just continue to try to add talent to improve a good group. Anthony Johnson appears to have a lot of traits that could make him successful in the NFL and of interest to the Browns.
