It has been a busy few months for all 32 teams. With the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft, what five acquisitions stand out for the Houston Texans?

It proved to be a very rough season for a club that had captured four of the previous six AFC South titles. Yes, the Houston Texans are still waiting to make a deep run in the playoffs. The franchise has been around since 2002 and have obviously reached the postseason but have gone no further than the divisional round.

Of course, deep took on a new meaning in 2017 as the injury-riddled club closed out the year with six consecutive losses and plummeted to the bottom of the division standings. Losing defensive players J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus in one evening (Week 5 vs. Chiefs) was disastrous.

And it went from bad to worse when rookie quarterback extraordinaire Deshaun Watson went down in practice in November. It resulted in a 4-12 showing, five fewer wins than in 2016.

However, it’s a new offseason and a new campaign ahead in September. After a slow start, the Texans got busy in free agency. And despite not having a pick in the first or second round in April, the club added eight players via the draft.

So what five additions to this roster will prove to be the best for a team looking to bounce back after a forgettable 4 and 12 showing?
