Chicago Bears: 5 Veterans who won’t survive 2018 training camp
Some tough decisions will need to be made during Chicago Bears 2018 training camp, including dropping the hammer on a number of quality veterans.
You’ve heard the saying before — the NFL is a business. Difficult decisions need to be made all of the time, often leaving players without a job. It just so happens that Chicago Bears 2018 training camp will wrap up with many of the aforementioned difficult decisions.
When that time comes, I could see a number of prominent veteran players getting the ax. It’s not fun, but it’s part of the process of getting the roster down to the required 53 men. With this in mind, I’ve decided to pinpoint several veteran Bears players who I believe simply aren’t in a position to survive.
For some, it’ll be due to a lack of talent on their end. For others, it’ll be the plethora of competition at their position where there are simply too many mouths to feed. Either way, hearts will be broken and dreams will be crushed. No one ever said life in the NFL was easy.
Just to clarify, I consider any player who has at least two years (headed into their third year) of experience as a veteran. So if they entered the league in or before 2016, they’re a veteran in my book.
Now that we’re all set on that, let me run you through five veterans who I believe won’t survive Bears 2018 training camp. For these players’ sake, I hope I’m wrong. Chances are, though, that at least two or three of them will watch the final grains of sand fall from their Chicago hourglasses this offseason.
