After years of dominance, could the New England Patriots be on their way down? These early bold predictions for the 2018 NFL season suggest that is case.

For the better part of the 21st century, the New England Patriots have been the class of the NFL. Since 2000, they’ve played in eight Super Bowls, won five Lombardi Trophies and missed the postseason only three times.

However, we as head into the 2018 campaign, there are some signs of slowing. Instability in the locker room has caused infighting, even if there’s an organizational insistence that no problems exist. The franchise’s star player will be 41 years old before September rolls around. A number of offseason departures also aren’t going to help the Patriots return to the Super Bowl either.

Instead of leaving this all open-ended, though, I want to take it one step further. Today, I’m going to divulge a few of my bold predictions for New England’s upcoming season. Now keep in mind that these are meant to push the limits of logic — hence the word “bold.” Some may be safer than others, but all five seemed like brazen expectations for the Patriots in my mind.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at my early bold predictions for the Patriots’ 2018 season. Whether or not any of these come true, I stand by them and welcome anyone to provide valid reasoning as to why they couldn’t all become reality in the near future.
