It’s been a busy few months for all 32 teams. With the 2018 NFL Draft in the rear view mirror, what five additions stand out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

You could make a very strong case that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wound up being the most disappointing team in their conference in 2017. They were the only club in the NFC South not to make the playoffs as the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons won at least 10 games. Dirk Koetter’s club finished 5-11, a full five games out of third place in the divison.

This was a team that appeared to be on the rise one year earlier. Koetter’s squad overcame a 1-3 start to win eight of its final 12 contests. That impressive finish included victories over the playoff-bound Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks. And after the Bucs opened with a 2-1 mark this past year, many expected the team to right in the thick of the playoff chase. But Tampa would drop its next five contests. After two straight wins, there was another five-game losing streak and game over.

Of course, this is the day and age of the NFL where teams go from last to first in the blink of an eye. See the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017. So are the Buccaneers capable of such a comeback? Getting past the Saints, Panthers and Falcons will be a tall task.

And that’s why the following five players, acquired via free agency, trades and the draft, were the best of the club’s offseason addition.
