Linebackers (Starters listed first)

Inside Linebacker: Avery Williamson, Darron Lee, Kevin Minter, Kevin Pierre-Louis
Outside Linebacker: Jordan Jenkins, Lorenzo Mauldin, David Bass, Josh Martin

For starters (pun intended), Mauldin will not only make the team, he will be a starting outside linebacker. This is for one main reason: The coverage will help the pass rush be more effective and open things up for him allowing him to reach his potential.

As far as all the linebackers are concerned, expect more sacks. Expect the Jets to be more creative with their blitz schemes and mix and match coverages well with their middle four. Lee and Jenkins will finally have the breakout seasons we’ve been waiting for since they were drafted together by the Jets in 2016.

The double teams on Williams will open things up for the Jets to use their linebackers the way they’ve wanted to since the arrival of Bowles. They will be aggressive and force the quarterbacks to throw balls away or turn the ball over like they did in 2015.

Jets fans have envisioned a fast, ferocious, and hungry defense that gets after the quarterback. Well, they will finally get it in 2018, and it will be due to the coverage in the secondary.
