12. David Johnson

Following a strong sophomore campaign that consisted of over 2,000 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 20 touchdowns, the Arizona Cardinals had high expectations for David Johnson heading into his third NFL season in 2017. Unfortunately, Johnson’s season came to an end right away after suffering a wrist injury in the season opener against the Lions, which was a crushing blow to the Cardinals’ offense since they arguably lost their top weapon.

With a full offseason to recover, all signs point to Johnson returning to his normal ways of being one of the league’s top running backs, although that’s always easier said than done. As much as Arizona doesn’t want to hear it, there’s always the chance of Johnson looking a little rusty to start off the 2018 season after missing an entire year of action, but even if that is the case, it shouldn’t take long for him to return to his normal ways.

Between adjusting to the surprise retirements of Carson Palmer and Bruce Arians along with the pressure of returning to the playoffs after missing out over the last two seasons, Arizona has a ton on their plate heading into 2018. At least with Johnson, it should make all these factors easier to handle.
