19. Kenyan Drake

In the middle of last season, the Miami Dolphins made a questionable decision to trade Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles, even if there appeared to be some issues with the running back. However, when seeing how the trade opened up the opportunity for players like Kenyan Drake to step up in Ajayi’s absence, the decision seems like it will be worth it in the long run for the Dolphins.

With that being said, Franke Gore may be listed as the No. 1 running back at the moment, but when looking at how the veteran isn’t getting any younger, nobody would be surprised if Drake ended up being the top option by season’s end. All due respect to Gore, but if Miami truly wants Drake to be their top running back of the future, it would be more beneficial to give him the majority of the carries in 2018 instead of holding back with someone else like Gore.

The pressure is on the Dolphins to get back on the winning track after failing to earn a trip to the playoffs during the 2017 season, and Drake could end up playing a key role in whether or not that happens. Rushing for 2,000 yards may be a stretch for a running back like Drake with only seven career starts to his name, but surprises happen all the time in the NFL.
