NFL 2018: 20 Running backs with best chance at 2,000 yards rushing
By Dan Parzych
18. Lamar Miller
One can only imagine how last season would have turned out for a team like the Houston Texans if they didn’t experience so many injuries on both sides of the football, especially with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. For years, the Texans had desperately been searching for a quarterback to help the team reach a higher level, but unfortunately Watson’s rookie campaign was cut short with a torn ACL.
Thanks to an offseason to recover and get healthy, Watson is expected to be better than ever when he returns under center for the 2018 season to help Houston get back on track to return to the playoffs. Not to mention, if Watson gets the necessary help from Lamar Miller in the backfield, it will give the Texans a much better chance of making it happen.
Entering his third season in Houston, Miller may not seem like the most explosive running back since he’s only broken the 1,000-yard rushing mark twice in six seasons, but he’s still a valuable member to this offense. Falling short of the playoffs was beyond frustrating for a team with such high expectations like the Texans, but as long as everyone remains healthy, making a run shouldn’t be an issue for Miller and company.
