16. Carlos Hyde

Normally, a team like the Cleveland Browns isn’t considered the most attractive landing spot for free agents, which is why it was a surprise at first to see Carlos Hyde sign after spending the beginning of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, consistency has been an issue at times for the former Ohio State star since would be some games in which he looked like a top running back in the league, only to struggle the following week.

From Hyde’s perspective, a fresh start with a new team like the Browns may be just what he needs to fix some of those consistency issues, and when seeing the potential surrounding this offense, the running back should be in good shape. Even if Baker Mayfield spends his first NFL season playing behind Tyrod Taylor, let’s not forget Cleveland landed a big-name receiver this offseason after acquiring Jarvis Landry from Miami.

After being seen as the laughing stock of the league for years, the Browns deserve some credit for finally making some moves in the right direction. Playoffs may be a bit of a stretch at this point, but maybe if players like Hyde end up performing better than expected, Cleveland could end up surprising a lot of people.
